You know, people often say to me, "HEY! What the fuck are you doing here??" and, "ALL RIGHT PUT DOWN THE GUN, NOW!!!" and even, "You're not my daddy!"
And sometimes people ask me, "What is IRREVERENT?"
That's
a fine question too, one that, if I were sober enough, I'd spend some
quality time pondering and crafting a yummy and nutritious
response. But since I'm not, I'll just bang out an HTML table of
dichotomies. Enjoy. |

Just when I was about to immolate myself in biodiesel, even conservatives have had enough of Ann Coulter's bullshit. Thank the big dude for small miracles.
Is this the beginning of a changing tide? |

Hard as it is to imagine in these days of men in black masks swooping
into "suspected terrorist's rooms" in the dead of night and
"disappearing" them on private CIA jets to other countries for torture,
Americans' civil liberties, including freedom of speech have been under increasingly harsh attack
in recent years. If you don't believe me, ask Howard Stern. Or Ryan
Dwyer, a 9th grader who was suspended for a week for creating a website
criticizing his school. Or you could ask Ward
Churchill. |

Comedy type humor guys do things to get into the proper brainspace to
heckle the ever loving hell out of the things you cherish and hold
dearly. Personally I like to write them down and occassionally
publish some that others may use to expand their perspective or
evacuate their cranium of a few billion worth of direct media advertising.
Also I figure if Carlin can do it, I can. My hair is shorter. |

The story didn't make much of a stir stateside when Reuters ran it on July 20th (off, I think the New Scientist coverage). A few overseas outlets covered it, but American press reaction was noticably quiet. Commondreams picked it up but only those wacky lefties read it. Life went on. Americans stuck another $45 worth of gas into their Suburbans and drove three blocks to pick up McDinner. Yawn.
But it may interest you to learn that the American government is planning on microwaving crowds as part of a brand new wave of "less lethal" crowd control weapons. Our troops (in Iraq to start with) will be firing a "95GHz microwave beam at rioters to cause heating and intolerable pain in less than five seconds." This could only be funny if the protesters were outside Orville Redenbacher's. |
