Recently the liberals have been at it again with all sorts of fear-mongering over the issue of illegal immigration, claiming so-called “human rights” should trump matters of national sovereignty and economic survival. Well, as usual, the world’s not as nice and pretty as they’d like to believe, and choking off the tidal wave of illegal immigration into the United States is not only a matter of national security, but one of basic survival. And although everyone’s so worried about the Mexican border, I say we need to be equally worried about the THREE OTHER borders we’d leave open to terrorists, criminals, and other maniacs to waltz into the states with little to no resistance. I say we need to close down ALL the borders before we can really keep out the terrorists and call our nation safe. |

One of the most obscene things to come out of the Hurricane Katrina
disaster was the media’s spin on New Orleans poverty, as if to imply
the native population’s socio-economic status served as some sort of
attractor for foul weather patterns. Liberals are always quick to
engage in such obviously flawed thinking, so it’s hardly surprising
here, but at the risk of sounding politically incorrect let me just
say, for the record, folks: guess what? Some people are just poor.
Some people are evil, some people are stupid, and some people are just
going to be poor. It’s a fact of life. Get used to it. |

One of the most persuasive beliefs of this so-called "modern age" is
that education is supreme: that nothing matters more than an advanced
degree from a top drawer school. Like most "enlightened" beliefs that
everyone supposedly believes in, it's total hogwash. |

All we hear about these days is how some group or other does something really obnoxious and stupid, and then how everyone has to act like it's okay because of "free speech." Take those jerks who protest at military funerals. Here's a group of people who just drive around looking for military funerals, I guess this pays pretty well, and then hold a demonstration on how the soldier was killed because "God is punishing America" for "permitting" gays to exist. Somehow we're supposed to let this slide because of "free speech," but you know what? Something so stupid that nobody likes it doesn't have to continue to exist just because we "need" to adhere to some abstract principle. I say let's put it to a vote: let the people decide, let the people define the Bill of Rights. Let's update this sucker and FINALLY make it relevant again. It's ridiculous to stand for something nobody wants, and truth be told this type of "free speech" isn't something anybody wants, certainly not the families of the fallen soldiers, certainly not yours truly. |

Dan McHicktock first started writing for IRREVERENT in 2004,
just prior to the Presidential elections. His approach to
politics and cultural matters, let's say, is a bit extreme and
certainly not to my political taste, yet he is irreverent. |
